Mike Tobin’s Environmental Lab and Field Studies class from UHD worked at the UHCC on September 23 and September 30, 2016, sampling seed removal rates by rodents in different habitats.
The Geophysics Field Camp (GEOL 4355), taught by Rob Stewart, was based at TAMUG, with some work at the UHCC, May 18-26, 2016. They were expecting 40-50 students and around a dozen staff.
The summer field biology course (BIOL 2397), taught by Ann Cheek used the lab June 6 to July 7. They were expecting up to 16 students.
The Association of Biology Laboratory Educators had workshops at the UHCC June 22 and 23, led by Ann Cheek, with about 20 faculty on each date.
Teachers in the STEM Teaching Equity Project (~50 people) toured the prairie grasshopper experiment at the UHCC on February 20, 2016. Student’s in Dr. Wang’s GPS and LiDAR class (~90 people) had a field trip to the UHCC on the same day.
Dr. Rob Stewart taught the Nautilus field course at the UHCC on November 1-6, 2015.
The annual UHCC users meeting was February 25, 9-11 am, in SR1 room 410.
The Architecture Design Studio class (ARCH 5500), taught by Patrick Peters, focused on the UHCC for the spring semester of 2015. The students conducted three projects: a master plan for the UHCC, a plan for installing the ReFRAME x FRAME pavillion at the UHCC, and plans for developing individual buildings at the UHCC).
The Geophysics Field Camp (GEOL 4355), taught by Rob Stewart, worked at the UHCC May 16-28, 2015. There were about 40 students and 12 staff.
The Ecology Field Course, taught by Ann Cheek, worked at the UHCC June 1 to July 2, 2015.
May 11-22, 2014. UH undergraduate geophysics field school. Will be working outdoors and using the laboratory building periodically.
June 9-11, 2014. NASA astronaut training. Will be using the laboratory building for half a day.
August 4-16, 2014. UH Environmental Science field camp. Will be working outdoors and using the laboratory building periodically.
August 17-23, 2014. Nautilus field camp. Will be working outdoors and using the laboratory building periodically.
